SHA Analytics, LLC is part of the team selected by the San Francisco Bay Area Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) to conduct a business case for regional network management. This business case builds on earlier efforts of the MTC’s Blue Ribbon Transit Recovery Task Force. This task force was created to adjust to new conditions created by the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of its work, the task force explored reforms to improve the long-term network management and governance of the Bay Area’s public transit system. Currently, regional collaboration is achieved through collaboration with MTC, transit operators, and many city and county stakeholders. MTC is evaluating options to improve regional network management.
Based on an initial network management evaluation conducted before this project, and in collaboration with the stakeholders, SHA Analytics will work as part of the team conducting the business case analysis of the identified network management options. These options and evaluation criteria will be further refined in this project. Then a business case will be conducted on the options to identify the option(s) most likely to achieve the stated goals.
