I-605 Freeway and Beverly Boulevard Interchange in Pico Rivera, CA
SHA Analytics, LLC provides cost and schedule risk analysis services to support LA Metro on the I-605 Beverly Boulevard Interchange Project, a mobility and safety improvement initiative located in the City of Pico Rivera. The Project aims to reduce travel time, improve interchange operations, and enhance public safety through ramp upgrades and optimized traffic flow.
Prior to the bidding process for the construction contract, SHA Analytics, LLC led a comprehensive pre-bid quantitative cost and schedule risk assessment to help LA Metro identify potential risks and determine which could be mitigated prior to bid or could be transferred to the Contractor through the bid documents. For risks that could not be mitigated or transferred, SHA Analytics, LLC conducted a Monte Carlo analysis to determine retained risk exposure to support LA Metro with contingency setting and financial planning. The pre-bid risk assessment efforts also established a baseline for ongoing risk tracking and management throughout construction.
Key contributions include:
-
Facilitated a pre-bid risk workshop with LA Metro and Project partners to identify and quantify key risks, evaluate cost model assumptions, and discuss potential mitigation strategies prior to bid submission.
-
Developed a comprehensive risk register and identified and evaluated project risks to mitigate pre-bid, transfer to the Contractor through bid documents, or to be retained by LA Metro.
-
Conducted Monte Carlo analysis to produce risk-adjusted cost and schedule estimates and determine contingency needs to support LA Metro with contingency setting and financial planning.
-
Established a risk baseline to enable ongoing tracking and management during construction.
During construction, SHA Analytics, LLC will continue to support Metro by leading regular risk update meetings, reconciling the evolving risk register with real-time project changes. These updates help monitor contingency sufficiency and provide ongoing projections of risk-adjusted project cost and schedule. Through proactive risk management, risk modeling, and continuous support, SHA Analytics, LLC helps Metro manage uncertainty and improve confidence in successful project delivery.
