Associate Consultant Profile

Although SHA Analytics is not currently hiring, the following profile describes the type of work performed by our Associate Consultants and the experience, skills, and qualities we generally seek when opportunities become available.

SHA Analytics, LLC delivers specialized consulting services for public infrastructure projects and programs, supporting clients across local and national markets. We develop analytical frameworks and tools to support decision-making under uncertainty, with expertise in risk analysis, benefit-cost analysis, financial modeling, project delivery, and public-private partnerships.

We are a boutique consulting firm providing high-impact decision support services throughout the infrastructure project lifecycle, from early planning and evaluation through design, procurement, and construction. Because we are a small and collaborative team, Associate Consultants receive hands-on experience across multiple assignments and are expected to contribute meaningfully to both technical analysis and client deliverables.

  • Developing presentations, charts, and other visual materials that communicate analytical findings to clients

  • Supporting risk workshops, project meetings, and client presentations

  • Conducting research and literature reviews

  • Assisting with project management, coordination, quality control, marketing, and other needs of a small consulting firm

Experience and Qualifications We Typically Seek
  • A bachelor’s degree and relevant professional experience in transportation planning, economics, finance, civil engineering, public policy, or a related analytical field

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to develop clear, well-structured spreadsheet models

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • The ability to explain technical analysis clearly to non-technical audiences

  • The ability to work independently while communicating progress, questions, and potential issues proactively

  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through

  • The ability to prioritize multiple assignments and collaborate effectively in a small-team environment

  • The ability to handle confidential information appropriately

  • Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship

Particularly Relevant Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is especially relevant to our work:

  • Developing complex spreadsheet-based analytical or financial models

  • Sensitivity analysis, scenario analysis, probability, or Monte Carlo simulation

  • Project risk analysis and risk management

  • Benefit-cost analysis, lifecycle cost analysis, or economic analysis

  • Financial modeling and infrastructure finance

  • Transportation or other public infrastructure projects
